Oil Accounting and Shipping Management are two closely related areas of the Refining business which are often poorly supported by commercial IT.
Now, Maron Systems Ltd offers an upgraded version of its proven Oil Accounting System which includes extensive facilities for Shipping Management and support for the whole Order Lifecycle, from trade creation by Traders through to document generation at the jetty and mass balance by the Stock Accountant.
As before, this new version has been developed in co-operation with real refineries and real users ensuring that it delivers real benefits.
Open Technology
The system has been built using the latest Oracle client/server and web technology and is compliant with all Microsoft Windows platforms from Windows & Office 95 and above. The database is compliant with any Oracle RDBMS platform from release 8i and above. The system uses open XML messaging to support integration with existing systems and can also support use of mobile devices such as a pocket PC.
Caters for all circumstances
OAS has already been installed in a number of countries and caters for a wide range of situations
- receipts and deliveries via marine, road, rail, or pipeline. Handles shipments with multiple ownership / multiple destination / multiple grade
- stocks in cylindrical, floating roof, spherical and bullet tanks; but also those in caverns, third party depots, pipelines, afloat or in transit
- standard interface template allows integration with many standard industry packages e.g. Oil
Movements, Scheduling, Laboratory Information Systems, Mass Balance Reconciliation systems, as well as interfacing to enterprise systems for finance, such as SAP
In tune with Industry Standards
OAS includes a range of ASTM tables (old and new) as well as Institute of Petroleum Vessel Experience Factor algorithms and approved methods of volume calculation.
Visualisation
The OAS Explorer module provides visualisation of the shipping programme, and supports planning and scheduling, with drill down to shipment detail and past vessel performance on delays and demurrage.
Flexible Reporting
Extensive reports are included, summarising operational data for management information and performance improvement analysis. Standard word processing and spreadsheet packages can be used to generate customer-quality documentation with no programming effort.
